Observation details
Large seabird with long wings, slow laconic flight, wings long, pointed, and bowed, drooping until the tips almost touched the water. Long tail and long thin bill. Pink tones to the bill. Flight feathers blackish, head dirty blonde, and underparts perhaps paler. At 7:50 AM it came in low over the water from the direction of the red buoy, possibly from the MV Rachel Carson, which was passing by. It flew toward me right in front of the northeast corner of the point. Then it flew east and joined a feeding frenzy of gulls, cormorants, and rhinos on the water. The whole group then drifted northwest eventually out of view.
