Observation details

Immature bird found by Kevin Szen along the creek. Photo taken by Kevin. This species has become almost annual over the past 5 years or so. There is a possibility of local breeding in the Motor Island rookery. This is also the time of year we expect wandering waders from the southeast. Note the heavy, blunt-tipped bill which is mostly dark as well as the unique head shape.
