Observation details

A single individual was rescued on 6th July by Shubham Lone and Shanker Paryekar from the Stranding Network at Colva. Visited ReefWatch to identify the specimen and measure it since, this is the first confirmed record of this species from the state. Below images were taken after the specimen died along with key measurements. However, there is a previous unconfirmed record where a specimen was rescued in the early 2000's by Heinz Lainer and was handed to Paresh Porob (ACF) Goa Forest Department. The specimen later died, and the ID was not conclusively established.
