Observation details
Saw a nowa/lowa type bird at finis. Was leaning towards it being a northern. Looked pale bellied with lots of streaking on the breast thin supercilium. Don’t recall seeing the flanks well or get a good read on the throat - which did appear to be fairly unspeckled. Poor recording of the chip note. Understand Louisiana would be more expected based on date but I wasn’t sure and I have seen northerns more than once in Philly in the last few days of July . Maybe the recording will answer the question. The bird calls in the very first part of the recording unfortunately but is audible. Should have unpacked my camera sooner. Need lowa for Bombay as of the time of this list if that’s what it ended up being.
