Observation details
Continuing and strikingly beautiful jay of unknown provenance endemic to southwestern Mexico. Blue back and wings on the upperparts, black head, underparts and bill, white eye. We found it after a long rain in a bare tree to the west of parking lot 3 loosely associating with several Blue Jays while staking out the Yellow-headed Caracara. It preened for awhile allowing for a photo op. Briefly flew into the parking area trees on the west end and opposite side of the lot from the dumpsters where it was a bit more reserved burying itself in the middle of the branches. I was hoping to find it while looking for the Yellow-headed Caracara, but it turned out to be the other way around. Lifer! Photos.
