Observation details
Seen from inside the boat’s observation deck flying along the starboard side. I initially thought it was another fulmar because of its gray dorsal color but closer inspection revealed its narrow wings, aggressive wing posture, and acrobatic and wheeling flight with steep arcs. Was able to go outside to the deck to take some photos where I saw it for maybe 20 seconds before it disappeared off the starboard side behind fog. The boat was traveling E to ESE while the petrel was in view. Maybe blown in by the stormy offshore conditions. Identified as Murphy's Petrel vs Providence Petrel by its comparatively smaller bill, lighter gray upper-parts, and more apparent "M" pattern along back.
