NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 53. Bulk reel: 131 a) This is a different bird from Cut 52. It began singing with long (i.e. multi-figure) phrases. I recorded one (bird far away). Quality: 3. Level: +5. 203 tape. While I moved closer to the bird it changed to phrases of two figures (* .) and three figures (* . .), all natural song. Quality: 1-2. Level: +3. 203 tape. LN. b) After playback: three-figure and two-figure phrases; however, nearly all are of two-figure, although during the playback it regularly gave three-figure phrases. Note that this bird is apparently using two voices in most of this part. Quality: 1-2, 1. Level: +3. 203 tape. In some places, uses two voices here, too!! [referring to a).].
