Note solid dark greater coverts on downstrokes. Retained inner primaries, molting P7-P8

Observation details

🔴 immature seen on beach 10 early on before it flew West. Very dark coverts like a lesser black back, with reduced pale primary windows. structure leg color etc seemed good for California. Barring only on side of the tail with a clean white uppertail.
