NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 47. Bulk reel: 131. Weather: Cloudy, fair. Different birds from Cut 46; these are near the water source. Natural song; has more figures in the phrase and these given far more rapidly; also some calls. Quality: 2. Level: +3. 203 tape. Focus then shifts to another bird. It has a normal * . . song. Quality: 1. Level: +3. 203 tape. Note: At end on 139 tape, is added a multi-figure phrase recorded inadvertently while recording Cut 22 of Ortalis ruficauda. Quality: 2. Level: +3. Note: While I didn't get to record it, a field note made 13/IV/70, 6:30 AM, clear, at km ~ 21 (old) (= 19 new), indicated a bird song is two-figure phrase, somewhat like the Zulia birds : (* .). Such phrases I've since heard from time to time and they seem usually to be given with less than normal, full volume. (Also cf Cuts 21, 24, & 43.) 17 Feb 1973 PAS.
