NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 33. Bulk reel: 130 Weather: Clear, fair. a) 24/VI/68. 5:45 AM. An example of the bird's "waking song" (recorded incidentally). Quality: 2-3. Level: +12. 27/VI/68. 5:45 AM. Other ditto, one distant and one close. The latter, which was at the edge of the brush, faltered, apparently due to my moving, in looking back at it. (Parabola pointed in opposite direction but the bird was very close.) Quality: 2. Level: +10. b) 15/VII/68. ~ 6:00 AM. Another ditto, probably same bird. Quality: 2. Level: +10. c) Added another from 20/VIII/68, 6:10 AM. This one is preceded by one alarm call. Then there follows a similar long call by another bird, then two simultaneously by two other birds, then a song more approaching normal by the near bird. Quality: 1-2. Level: +10.
