Observation details
I see/hear one adult flying towards the nest area as I approach the yacht club. A second black oystercatcher flies towards the nest area. Both vocalize land, preen, roost, copulate. The female (I determined from watching copulation assuming male on top) walked into a deep dark space and came back out. It's too low tide for the nest spot. No sign of young.I hope this has nothing to do with fireworks. Watched off and on for 30 min. Occasional calling. one adult flew up to the top of the jetty down towards the end.
