Observation details
I had a yellow breasted chat come up on Merlin twice while hiking. Sounded more like a catbird to me as they were abundant and I had a towhee and RWBB calling loudly right where I heard it but Merlin had the chat. It only picked up twice and I looked for 15 minutes but couldn’t locate. At south end of the trail coming back to the north where the open area goes back into the burr oak forest. Right habitat and location could make sense given there had been a sighting not far from there south of eagle. But given the rarity and it would be a lifer for me, I didnt want to list. Will attach the audio and Merlin pic.
