Observation details

Followed heard-only PUMA to Maple Lane, just south of bridge at south end of Janes Creek Meadows. Vocalizations had stopped, but then started up again and we saw several birds entering holes in the counterweight of the huge crane now building a 6?-story building. Holes were approx 6" diameter and had a bar across them (perhaps to deter bird entries), but PUMA had no problem accessing the interior of the counterweight. As the crane pivoted its arm, one bird trailed behind it, frantically trying to access the hole. Birds repeatedly entered the holes and then exited about 30 seconds later. Difficult to gauge total number of birds but 5 were seen at once.
