Media notes
An adult female on a breeding colony, carrying a woodlouse (Oniscidea) to feed the chicks.
Observation details
c. 20 chicks, mostly outside the nests, and about 10 adults feeding them persistently. This figures from the hide, but in other points of the ruined building there are more nests; it is estimated that there are about 35 pairs breeding here, together with three pairs of Eurasian Kestrel (one videoed in the previous visit, in may). The high count is due to the chicks of six nests visible in front of my hide, and all the adults feeding them. The average number of chicks in each nest at this site is 4-5.
