Observation details
Initially I had this as a flycatcher sp. Bird was far west end where public trail dead ends. I had spotted Say's Phoebe in same general location from a distance, so was surprised when I noticed this bird initially at a close distance, but heavily shadowed. The two larger photos I have adjusted the levels. The bird then flew to a further distance to the north, flying and perching a couple of times along a fence gate, before moving northwest out of sight. After reviewing photos, I updated ID to Eastern Phoebe. I did consider a potential hybrid x with Black Phoebe based on the darker throat, but it perhaps seems in range with a juvenile bird.
