Observation details
At Calypso Cascades, singing vigorously over and over for the time of observation (10+ min, around 8:45-9:00 AM) and then still singing when I came back by on my way down at 10:00. Views were limited to perched bird on top of small conifers: very small, very short tail, thin slightly decurved bill; most obvious color was rich uniform cinnamon on most of underparts, from throat through breast to belly (not sure about the latter, which may have been s little darker). Photos are not great but give the idea; the main problem is that that harsh sunlight in the photos washes out the rich cinnamon of throat and breast that was so striking in binoculars. Audio of complete song is clear and diagnostic of Pacific vs. Winter, with its pleasing but rather dry chips and trills, lacking more musical, bell-like quality of Winter. Will document for CBRC.
