Observation details
Adult male in breeding season with bright plumage. Comparatively small. Blue and purple are abundant throughout the bird. This is mostly visible on the wings, head, and tail. Dark ochre colored breast. There are multiple instances on the wings where highlights of the same ochre color can be seen. The most notable appearance of this color is the very obvious ‘hood’ of the bird. This specific feature makes it very easy to identify.
