Observation details
Adult Arctic Tern was viewed flying with juvenile Arctic Tern. They landed and were photographed while resting on the tarmac at the Lewis and Clark marina. Adult Arctic with almost full black cap and red bill beginning to darken. Short legs and tail being at least as long as the wings when closed. Juvenile has partial cap with black bill. Both birds later flew directly south along the dam to the cliffs/pool flowing through the spillway gates. This would take them into both Knox and Cedar counties in Nebraska.
