Observation details

Popped up to pishing; thought it was a male Mourning Warbler but with a mostly white throat. Remembered that this plumage could be a hybrid, so we worked on getting close looks, photos and audio. Did not respond to Mourning playback, but it was giving yellowthroat chip notes, so we tried Common Yellowthroat song and it came right in. Got close photos and audio. Resembled male MOWA with mostly gray hood and black mottling at bottom of throat. But rest of throat was mostly white; face mostly black with additional white mottling.
