Observation details
See introduction. Two of the nestlings fledged while more (1 or ?) remained in nest and adults took turns feeding both groups. Fledglings begging from adults provided some excellent photo opportunities. Separating adults from juveniles/immatures is a real challenge. Overall adults have darker throats, brighter yellow underparts, narrow edges to tertials, and tail edges and tip show considerable wear; on juveniles and immatures the differences are subtle: the tail is noticeably unworn, the tertials are more broadly edged, and the throat and underparts are paler than with adults.
