Observation details
First seen here yesterday morning by Nat C. I went over later afternoon today for a check after Carolyn's report of observing it along the Piping Plover Trail a few hours earlier. I did not see it along the Piping Plover or Michigan Trails, so I decided to head over to the beach and walk north to check the massive group of gulls halfway up. I was fortunate to hear a couple short songs while I was walking close to the white fence dividing north beach and the dunes, which drew my attention towards the dune plants. The bobwhite was just on the other side of the white fence, standing in the dune plants very close to the large red "No Motorized Watercrafts" sign. It moved right along the fence for a short distance and then walked west into the dune plants towards the swale. Seems like maybe it's the same male observed apparently moving north to south along the lakefront the last few weeks.
