Observation details
(45.0718113, -84.9834481) Fledgling continues around trees, remained somewhat hidden from view and we left it alone to not agitate parents. Adult bird extremely defensive of nesting area and as we approached it flew out to defend nesting area. We did not hang around long as adult was agitated and we did not want to aggravate them further. Large accipiter with dark head and back, contrasting white eye brow, pale undersides with faint gray streaking. Fledgling browner with heavier streaking, remained quiet in trees with an occasional contact kek like call, noticed when we approached nesting area. Adult bird gave off loud kek kek kek calls and flew towards us to warn us off. Viewed bird as we faced west and bird flew towards us from the woods and over our heads. Optimal viewing conditions with good lightening and visibility. Sun behind us not obstructing views. Viewed from 150 feet and less as it flew over our heads.
