Observation details
Observed in the same patch of Polylepis as the day before, mostly in pairs, moving actively between the trees and very hard to photograph. Plain brown above, whitish below and with a very dark tail. Rusty vent seen on some individuals. No throat patch. Dark face mask not very obvious, but faintly visible. The only other arboreal canastero is Canyon Canastero, which is much brighter brown, darker below and has a rufous tail. No similar species occur in Polylepis woods as far as I am aware.
