Observation details
Not exact location. Fishing a private small pond with property owner's permission. Upon arrival noted a lone cormorant perched on a post in the pond, general impression is it seemed small. Fortunately I had the camera in car. Photos show white lining on edge of facial skin, no yellow around eye. No Double-crested Cormorants present for direct comparison but tail appeared longer, legs shorter, and, again, seemed overall smaller than a Double-crested Cormorant. Bird flew west, many ponds in the area of a similar size. Not expected to be chaseable. I will check again tomorrow. Apologies for delayed report, corresponding with property owner.
