Observation details
lifer!!! first heard its song while we were walking less than halfway from 北门 to 荷花池 in the early morning for the first time, on the left (north?) side of the road were some bamboo stands and dense shrubbery that blocked the view down the hillside. originally thought I played something on merlin by accident on my phone, but the song kept coming, so I knew it was actually a bird singing. approached the left side of the road, trying to locate the song, repeated the same song over and over around 15-20 sec apart, bent down with camera tryign to look under the vegetation for the bird, had no idea but knew it was a new species, then the sound suddenly moved around sounded closer to me, and I spotted the babbler in some stalks/shrub edge!! camera focus wasn't cooperative but luckily the bird was, super pretty and cute and did not mind my non silent shutter too much! took around 15 pics, some of the barely in focus, and it kept moving around, would say tailorbird sized or slightly larger. super super cute, flew away after about 15 sec and crossed the road
