Observation details
Alerted to its presence by the scratchy rising trill. At first I thought Parula, but song was smooth rising trill. After 10 mins of listening for the skulking, shrub hugging warbler, it decided to become cooperative and pop out onto an open branch for a rest and a preen. Dark olive/brown back, yellow breast, streaks of black on sides into breast, light cap of gray on yellow head, distinct eye pattern of black streak through eye with yellow u surrounded by black u under eye. Found on east side of rail trail, north of small creek in shrubs. I will add a recording of song. Lifer in Kawartha Region.
