Observation details
Lifer #500! Continuing directly behind the False Cape State Park sign at the end of West Dike Trail. We walked up to the sign and the pair was feeding nonchalantly yet persistently right in front of us. Very quirky looking birds with that long neck, large head, white eye ring, darker brown mohawk, and bright pink bill and legs/feet. Vocalizing (chirping) occasionally and eventually got spooked by something and flew 30 feet down the canal. Initially viewed around 12:45 and they had moved at 3:00 when we passed by again. They seemed very settled in. So stoked! Pics!
