Observation details
Fascinating behavior. Two Mockingbirds perched close together side by side but facing each other, on top of a wooden fence. One would flare its back tail feathers, and the 2nd Mockingbird would then do the same. The 1st Mockingbird would hop, spin, and now be facing the same direction, flare it's feathers and the 2nd Mockingbird would then hop, spin, flare it's feathers and be facing the other. This went on for several minutes, and the sequence must have been repeated 7-10 times. photos.
