Observation details
Continuing bird, perched on top of the main surface of the White Lighthouse. Seen earlier from Stewart Park, flew from Red Lighthouse Jetty up onto White Lighthouse. Came here to add to this hotspot. Notes from earlier observations at Stewart Park: *Rare* but occasional. Red dot. Previously located earlier by Jay McGowan. Appears to be a 2nd summer bird. Medium-sized dark-headed gull. Gray mantle, slightly darker than RBGU, with all black primaries. Almost entirely white tail with only dark on outermost rectrices. Mostly dark bill with dark red near base. Dark legs, but not black. White eye arcs, but not as prominent as FRGU. White around frontal region of head, dusty gray around nape and back of head, unlike the black or dark cheek shield expected for FRGU. Photos to be added.
