Observation details
From a distance at the parking lot on Cliffside Dr, I saw a flock of birds take flight from the top of the hill at the point, rising a short height and settling back down, immediately suggesting Horned Larks. So we made a detour to climb to the top of the hill and there was a flock of Larks on the ground, and making short flights with much cheeping sounds. Seen well, and unmistakeable when seen well. Included about 50% adults and 50% fresh juveniles with cryptic spotting on the back. I counted 28 and Chef Ito counted 31 birds. The flock was eventually flushed by other hikers and flew northwest
