Observation details
This bird was hanging out with a group of American Crows. It landed in a tree near me and started vocalizing. It sounded very different from its other corvid friends. It made a series of short "uh - uh sounds" that were a deeper tone than the typical crow drawl. It also ruffed its neck feathers when it was calling. I was unable to see it in proximity to the American Crows - so can't say whether it was smaller than them. A fish crow has been previously reported in this area. I've included a photo.
