Observation details
Called infrequently and never with loud clear volume to my ear. I heard at least six paweee and/or chip weee calls that were drawn out with a slight rise in pitch on the extended weee syllable. See photos for plumage details, note color of underside of lower mandible is entirely dull orange, and the overall pale yellow color of the underparts which is most noticeable on the belly and the midline between the light grayish vesting on the sides; generally gray-olive back color - much paler and grayer than the blackish panel; wing panel with near equal and moderate contrast btw near white tips of median and greater coverts and the moderately blackish bases of covert feathers - most obvious in the base of the greater coverts which separate the pale tips (wing bars). Also note fairly well defined white edges on tertials. Primaries extended to tips of undertail coverts when viewed from below; undertail coverts weakly marked with obscure, isolated grayish smudges. A thin, partial eyering is easily visible (moderate contrast with the face color) around the upper rear 1/3 of the eye.
