Observation details
Adult male. Singing a thin, high "see-see-see-see" song. Wood warbler with off white belly and undertail. Burgundy red color on throat and sides of breast. Black facial mask extended across forecrown. Burguncy colored crown. White auricular patch extended back onto nape creating a narrow collar that separated the red crown from the gray back with black streaks. Blackish wing panel with two prominent white wing bars. Undersides of tail were white with small black outer corners. Bill was black and sharply pointed. Legs and feet were blackish. Stocky body plan and foraged in the mid to lower part of the tree canopy.
