Observation details
YESSSSSSS, FINALLLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Incredibly overdue species for the county brilliantly found & reported by Casey Tucker earlier. Also seen by Howard Gratz flying further west from Prairie Run, I raced over as soon as I saw the Facebook post. Surely deposited here by last night's storm. Napping on a stump by Old Mansfield Rd. when I arrived, they eventually relocated to another stump further east after being flushed by a boat. Looked like non-breeding adults, bills rather drab yellow and pink, no horns. Knox's first records this year ridiculously come over 4 years after we had a Brown Pelican at Apple Valley Lake (!!!). A long time coming! And on an atypical date.
