Observation details
Continuing from McKay's FOY Utah County Black Swift sighting yesterday! First bird today spotted/arrived around 7:30 p.m. by KC. (who helped everyone there verify they were indeed looking at black swifts. Thanks KC!) Facing Bridal Veil Falls, most of the white-throated swifts were clustered above the falls and to the right of the falls, whereas the black swifts were mostly to their left. The black swifts were flying in and out of where the mountain was lit by sun so we were able compare and see that their bellies stayed black in the light, and that it wasn't a lighting/shadow effect. They felt a tad bigger and blockier than the white-throated swifts, due to their shorter tails. (Poor) photos.
