Observation details
*Rare but annual migrant. Almost surely the same bird found by Luis, Nathan, and David late last night out at Northeast Point, picked up in flight along the road in Novastoshna. An amazing experience for all groups on the island, this individual ended up calling and circling the vans for almost 10 minutes. Giving its “pew-wee” call over and over, as well as another more staccato/high pitched call at one point. A gorgeous whimbrel-like bird with buffy spotting throughout its back and wings and a bright cinnamon rump. Many photos taken.
