Observation details
Originally found by Theodore Bockhorst, head of Sandpiper Pond with viewpoint being just off trail and standing in gator infested grass at pond’s edge. Shorebird with thin bill, neck stripe and blush/peach coloration on neck/chest. SC lifer for me! Preening the whole time I watched and not daintily swimming as I’ve seen them before.
