Observation details

Very friendly and curious mid-size bird with reddish legs and an orange/reddish circle around its eyes. I observed one foraging for bugs beneath the fallen leaves on the path. This bird is quite curious of humans. At least they are of me. This is the second year in a row that I visited this uninhabited island in the Bahamas. I learned the calls of this bird last year while in the exact same spot. They have a very soft call in addition to many others. Last year, I learned that they would emit the soft call when they are comfortable with me. So while on the trail, I stopped, sat down on the path and made the soft call. This one came by and hung out with me for an hour.
