Media notes
The spaced high pitched notes that originally drew my attention can be heard in the final (fourth) segment of this track. Short silences represent pauses in the original recording, all of the same bird. Other sounds such as dogs barking, human voices, passing traffic, and a game of street badminton can be heard. All of these context sounds were retained in the final track, but reduced in volume and intensity using high and low pass filters, and adjusting the gain in Audacity. I avoided impacts on the target sounds as much as possible. Each segment individually normalised to -3dB after the other editing described above ensured that the target vocalisations were the loudest sounds in the track.
Observation details
Called attention by a long series of spaced high pitched notes which I was not sure what species was making them until I saw it doing so. I managed to capture a few of these along with the more familiar chirping call when I made a recording.
