The dozen birds in this blurry view (rain was pelting my camera lens making focus problematic) were foraging in heavy rain just above tree canopies at 11:13 a.m. over the SE quadrant of the sanctuary's butterfly meadow.
Observation details
Rainy conditions caused the birds to forage quite low ... at and just above treetop height. When the rain became heaviest (about 11:00 - 11:15 a.m.) there were 10+ swifts (along with some swallows in the mixed species foraging flock) visible almost anywhere one might look.
