Observation details
Seen flying south along the beach and noticed the quick, deep wingbeats. Smaller than WEGU nearby and seen in direct comparison to WEGU flying next to it. It had a medium-largish bill (which rules out SBIG) with hints of red seen in the bill as it flew bye. It had a black smudge at the top back of its head. Mantle was dark with dark primaries which rules out BOGU and BHGU. FRGU was ruled out due to lack of white spots in primaries and bill size did not match FRGU. HEEG was ruled out due to the lighter underbody. Mostly seen flying-landed a few times but for less than 10 seconds each time before continuing south. Have a digibin vid showing it flying. Also included screenshots for the video. Open to other species suggestions/ideas as well. https://youtu.be/Ay7FfUe7Hq8?si=VlFFspluqUtNxbsk
