Observation details
No owls in the previously located nest holes, but my attention was drawn to several agitated American Robins, Gray Catbirds, Red-winged Blackbirds, White-breasted Nuthatches, and Northern Cardinals, obviously mobbing, or at least closely watching, a predator. After several minutes of searching finally located an adult red-phase Eastern Screech Owl and three juveniles directly over a busy footpath, but apparently unperturbed by walkers and dogs below; the adult was asleep.
