Observation details
Hung around all day in thick tag alder/mixed conifer swamp adjacent to a beach. Many good views were obtained throughout the morning. The bird was highly territorial, singing from high, fully exposed perches occasionally, but usually stayed partially hidden. Song very odd, more like a Connecticut than a mourning warbler. Gave single call notes many times, which match the single notes of MacGillivray's most closely. Link to the call here on iNat. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/218526009
