Observation details
At least the third year in a row that one has been heard in the last week of May on the Lakeshore Preserve. As I was walking away from a small stand of trees at the edge of the gardens, I heard the loud, choppy song of a Connecticut warbler. I returned to the trees and heard the bird sing on and off for the next 4-5 minutes before going quiet. May have gotten a brief glimpse as a bird the size of a large warbler moved from a low limb further into the brush, but nothing diagnostic. ID based entirely on the song, which was a series of quick, squeaky ascending and descending whistles (will add poor phone audio).
