Media notes
Interesting vocalization made by a just fledged juvenile sitting on a tree branch. The closest Pieplow example are "Kew-du-du" which are done in alarm and in contact. In this case it seemed to be for purposed of contact with its parents which could be heard a couple trees away. Only processing is applying a 300Hz High Pass Filter and then normalizing to -3db in Audacity
Observation details
Two separate (adult?) birds heard and juvenile seen. Interesting vocalization from the juvenile captured and will post later. Looks like they used the nest box in the tree in the yard. This is the second or third time WESOs have used it - usually squirrels take it over.
