Observation details
At the base of the bluff where the Fresh Water Marsh ends and the trail heads up the steep dirt climb to Lincoln Blvd I saw a rough looking brown swallow that I first though was a Rough-winged. The bird was puffed up and may have just taken a dust bath. I shot several quick cell photos and ran up the hill and didn't look at the photos til this morning. The swallow was a Bank. It has a white throat and the white extends to the auriculat=r. The brown breastbone is clear. The tail is forked and not square like the larger Rough-winged. The breast white. Srcuffy, yes! but assembling the views it is a Bank. With the habitat of the bluffs and wetlands it would be heaven for Banks as well as Rough-wings.
