Observation details
Rare. Small Warbler with yellow underneath and dark back and wings. Dark eyeline and semi-circle under the eye, dark streaking on flanks. Found in the same dirt half-drive as previous years. I stayed at this location for the duration of this list identifying every bird as they flew to the trees around me. The Prairie Warblers never made a sound, so ID’d by sight only. One bird flew to the little trees that lined the SE edge of the drive, a second bird flew to the larger tree next to it before the bird in the photo joined it in the large tree. Able to get great looks at both in the large tree before they both flew off. The male had much darker streaking on the flanks and darker head markings than did the female. Photos of one bird to follow. 42.3295009, -85.3451500.
