Observation details
I went out around 7 AM to fill the birdfeeders thinking I might go birding somewhere locally. And I hear this bird singing from my thickly wooded lot. I’m thinking this can’t be what I think it is. Maybe it’s just an aberrant hooded warbler. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and got a recording. I walked over to that side of the yard, but not too close and listened and confirmed that it was Swainsons. I said wow and the dang bird quit singing. I’m going to stay away from that side of the yard for a bit. I could not see the bird due to the dense growth of thorny olive. Later I checked my Haiku and right at the time I quit hearing it on the west side of the yard, it was singing loudly next to my little waterfall.
