Observation details
Minimum count. Dark swifts with long, tapered wings and tails with blunt ends. Very distantly east of my location and high up, but this angle provided me with good lighting and allowed me to note their behavior at length. All of these birds were gliding slowly, roughly one after the other, consistently moving in a northward direction towards the mountains (which I thought was slightly peculiar), and in fact I don’t remember seeing a single bird flap its wings over ~30 seconds of observation. In my binoculars I had CLSW flying in the foreground, which offered a great comparison for shape, size, and behavior.
