lifer! incredibly subtle bird. many nearby Swainson's clearly showed buffy spectacles, cheek and lores, whereas this bird had no buffy coloration whatsoever. pale almost ashen cheek, no color difference in the lores, and overall gray vibe. took many photos and will double check ID with better birders, but very excited to finally have noticed a difference between this bird and nearby thrushes. I suppose could technically be a bicknells since it didn't vocalize, but I'm comfortable calling this a gray cheeked unless proven guilty by sound. very happy to finally ID one--it used to feel "un-IDable" to me
